Via XI — Urgentia Dentalis

Dental EmergencyUrgentia Dentalis — the discipline of the urgent hour

A four-step urgent pathway from the first complaint to a stabilised tooth — AI-assisted triage, targeted imaging, immediate relief and a same-day chairside provisional, with every case handed onward to definitive treatment.

The Pathway

Four steps, one urgent thread

An emergency visit is a race against pain and time. Triage sorts the case, imaging names the cause, relief removes the pain, and stabilisation holds the result until definitive treatment takes over.

01
Triage Chief complaint, vitals & AI-assisted screening
02
Diagnose Imaging localises the lesion, AI reads the film
03
Relieve Drainage, pulpal access & trauma first aid
04
Stabilize Same-day chairside PMMA provisional
Stage 01 — Triage

Sort the pain before the drill

Emergency triage starts with the structured essentials: chief complaint and pain history, medical history and vitals, extra- and intra-oral examination. The goal of the first ten minutes is not a complete diagnosis — it is to decide what must happen today, and what can safely wait.

Auralis Insight assists at the front desk and the chair: symptom-structured intake, risk flags from the medical history, and an AI pre-read of any radiograph already on file — so the clinician walks in with a shortlist, not a blank page.

Red flags — refer to medical care first: spreading swelling, airway involvement, trismus, systemic fever, uncontrolled bleeding.

General Examination Capability-level — clinical examination, pulp vitality and percussion tests with standard clinic instruments
Stage 02 — Diagnose

Name the lesion before you numb it

Diagnosis in an emergency is targeted, not exhaustive: a periapical or bitewing film for the aching tooth, a CBCT volume when trauma, swelling or a suspected fracture demands three dimensions. Every image lands in the same case file the triage note opened.

Insight annotates the film — periapical radiolucency, caries proximity to the pulp, root fracture lines, widening of the periodontal space — and drafts the findings summary for the clinician to confirm and sign.

Radiography · Periapical / Bitewing Capability-level support — Insight imports and reads standard 2D films from your clinic's imaging equipment (DICOM / image export); no proprietary hardware lock-in
CBCT Imaging Capability-level support — for trauma, swelling and suspected fracture; imports DICOM volumes from your clinic's or partner imaging equipment
Auralis Insight · AI Reading Annotated findings: periapical lesions, caries depth, fracture lines & periodontal space — drafted for doctor review
Stage 03 — Relieve

Take the pain away first

Relief follows the diagnosis: pulpal access and drainage for irreversible pulpitis, incision and drainage with irrigation for a fluctuant abscess, repositioning and flexible splinting for luxated or avulsed-replanted teeth, smoothing or recementing for the lost crown. Local anaesthesia and analgesic protocols frame every intervention.

These are capability-level procedures — they run on the clinic's standard endodontic and surgical instruments. What Auralis adds is the record: every step is logged against the case file, so the referral that follows inherits the full picture.

Antibiotics are reserved for infections with systemic symptoms or a risk of spreading — they never replace drainage and removal of the source.

Pulpal Access & Drainage Capability-level — emergency pulp access, extirpation and drainage performed with the clinic's standard endodontic instrument set
Abscess Management Capability-level — incision & drainage, irrigation and analgesic cover for acute swelling
Trauma First Aid Capability-level — repositioning, flexible splinting and soft-tissue care for luxation and avulsion injuries

Stage 04 — Stabilize

Leave the chair whole again

Two kinds of emergency reach this stage, and they leave by different doors. A tooth opened for drainage is closed with a temporary restoration and booked for root canal completion — no provisional crown is made in the emergency visit. Only crown fractures and dislodged restorations enter the same-visit repair loop: a quick intraoral scan of the site, a provisional designed from the tooth library or the pre-fracture record, milled in PMMA on the chairside mill while the patient waits.

Mill 4X Chairside completes a single-unit cycle in ≈ 19 minutes; Auralis PMMA Mono is the same-day tier — one homogeneous shade, fast to mill, kind to opposing enamel. Seated with temporary cement, the provisional protects the pulp, holds the contact points and keeps the aesthetic zone presentable until definitive treatment.

Referral Pathways

Stabilised today, treated definitively tomorrow

Emergency care ends where definitive care begins. Every stabilised case leaves with a clear next pathway — and the same digital case file travels with the patient into it.

The Solution Kit

Everything on the pathway, on one purchase list

The four steps — plus the referral hand-off — collapse into a single kit. Every line links to the product page — specify the whole pathway or start with one stage and grow.
