One digital pathway from the first scan to lifelong retention — scan, simulate, plan, treat and monitor, all staying on one thread of data within the Auralis workflow.
Every stage hands its data to the next — the scan becomes the simulation, the simulation becomes the plan, the plan drives every aligner model and bonding tray, and the result is held in place by retention and recall.
Orthodontic diagnosis starts from records, and the surface record is the arch itself. Auralis Scan IO captures both arches plus the bite in a single sitting — true-colour PLY straight into the case file, no impression material, no model shipping.
Photographs and radiographs from the clinic's or partner imaging equipment complete the record set; everything lands in one file, ready for simulation.
The Scan software's outcome preview simulates tooth movement on the freshly captured arches — crowding relieved, spaces closed, midline aligned — a communication-grade visual preview generated chairside, while the patient is still in the chair. Production-grade tooth-movement staging is designed separately in the Studio CAD · Orthodontic module (capability level).
The preview is a communication instrument, not a promise — final staging remains the doctor's plan. What changes is the conversation: patients see their own teeth moving, and case acceptance starts from understanding.
Auralis Studio holds the whole orthodontic case — scans, simulation, photographs, radiographs and the doctor's treatment plan — under one patient file. Sequencing, anchorage decisions and interproximal reduction notes are documented where the team can find them.
Studio Insight assists by reading the orthodontic radiographs — panoramic and cephalometric views — and drafting a findings report for the doctor to review, amend and sign. The approved plan then releases the model series to Print.
Clear aligner therapy runs on printed models: the approved staging becomes a series of arch models, washed and cured on the same day, over which aligner foils are thermoformed. Printed attachment templates then seat the bonded composite attachments exactly where the plan positions them. The foil and thermoforming equipment tier is capability-level — Auralis supplies a documented, repeatable print workflow; the clinic or its partner lab forms and finishes the aligners.
For fixed appliances, the same engine prints indirect bonding trays: bracket positions set in the plan are transferred to the patient's teeth in a single appointment — precise, fast, and kind to chair time.
Retention begins the day active treatment ends. Retainer models print from the final arch on file — replacement retainers no longer need a new impression, just a rescan or the stored data. Retention can be removable or fixed: alongside thermoformed retainers, a fixed lingual retainer wire bonded behind the front teeth remains an option for holding alignment long-term.
Monitoring closes the loop: periodic rescans superimpose on the original record to show relapse or wear early, and Studio Clinic automates recall so the patient returns before a small shift becomes a new case.
In-office fabricated appliances: the design, production and fit of self-made orthodontic appliances are the responsibility of the treating practice and its clinicians; software and equipment provide tooling support only.
The five stages collapse into a single kit. Every line links to the product page — specify the whole pathway or start with one stage and grow.
| Stage | What happens | Auralis products |
|---|---|---|
| 01 · Scan | Both arches + bite in true colour; photographs & radiographs in one case file | Scan IO |
| 02 · Simulate | Chairside outcome preview on the patient's own arches — communication-grade simulation | Scan · Outcome Preview |
| 03 · Plan | Case file managed in Studio; production-grade tooth-movement staging in the Studio CAD · Orthodontic module (capability level); AI-assisted radiograph findings; approved plan released to print | Studio · Studio CAD · Ortho Module (capability level) · Studio Insight |
| 04 · Treat | Aligner model series printed, washed & cured; foils thermoformed (capability tier); indirect bonding trays & attachment templates | Print (aligner foils & forming — capability tier) |
| 05 · Retain | Retainers from the archived final arch; rescan monitoring; automated recall | Print · Scan · Studio Clinic |
Case selection: mild-to-moderate cases suit the in-office aligner pathway; complex cases — skeletal discrepancies or multidisciplinary treatment — are best referred to, or co-managed with, an orthodontic specialist.
